I signed up to Aux again. It is going smoothly, I now have three studies and plenty of great returns. A seven hour day goes by fast and still more to accomplish.
The floor in the dining room is in. Todd polyurthaned it last night. Needless to say I have a great headache this morning. We are doing the floors in sections. In the center of the house where the peak of the roof is above we are going to change the type of wood to cherry( the rest of the floors are oak). That way since we have to live in this crazy house during construction we won't be cast out of the whole house all at once. We can do it in sections up to the wood change. Right now we have to go around to the back door to get to the kitchen or else craw through a window onto the deck, which isn't too bad since the windows are huge. but, since it is 17 degrees outside it is a bummer. The idea of the floor change will add class to our cabin. I am really excited about this feature.
The kids took our 5th bedroom and made a makeshift lounging area. The local carpet store gave away remenants of carpet so they got some and laid them haphazard on the floor. Then they brought up sections of the couch, the Tv, and ottoman. It is actually comfy.

Your pioneering efforts are surely reaping blessings ~ how nice to hear!
The cabin is going to look so nice when the flooring is complete. I remember putting polyurethane on our floors (Mt.Airy house) & boy did it stink! We had to keep our windows open to keep air/smell moving through & also to help speed up the drying time. It was at the end of December when we did this so I can sympathize w/ you being cold! The "lounge" your kids made sounds real cozy!
